(1673-1776)

Ancestor - Niels Christian Pedersen

Peder Christensen (Diernæs) was born in February 1673 estimated from his age when he died. His parents and birthplace are unknown.

He was married to Margrethe Nielsdatter (Krarup), who was born in March 1685. She was daughter of Niels Christensen Krarup (d. 1723 at Abildgård in Østerild Parish) and wife Voldborg Nielsdatter Sengeløse. Her birthplace is unknown

Peder Christensen is mentioned in the church records as early as 1730 as living in Diernæs in Lild Parish. According to Ingvard Jakobsen ”Gårde og hus på Hannæs” (Farms and houses at Hannæs) he took over the copyhold of the farm in 1710. Peder Christensen owned the farm Diernæs from no later than 1742. Diernæs is now parceled, but was situated 2,5 km south of Myrup.

”Peder Christensen at Diernis” died 76 years old in 1749 and was buried 7th September 1749 in Lild Parish.

”Margrete Nielsdatter Widow at Diernis” died 72 years old in 1757 at her son and was buried 23rd October 1757 in Lild Parish.

They had at least 1 child. Peder was then 51 years, and Margrethe was 39 years old.

I have not found any siblings to him. Unfortunately, the parish registers for Tømmerby and Lild Parishes no longer exists for the period 1673-1728.

Ancestress - Karen Pedersdatter

Peder Christensen (Kold) was born in 1703 in Thorup, Aggersborg Parish. He was called Kold after his wife’s family. His parents are unknown.

He was married to Else Christensdatter (Kold), who was born in 1697 in Holme, Vester Thorup Parish. She was daughter of farmer in Holme Christen Christensen Kold and wife Kirsten Nielsdatter.

They lived in Holme in Vester Thorup Parish or Vust Parish. The sources do not agree and the village Holme is divided between the two parishes. The church records for Vust and Vester Thorup parishes are missing for this period.

”Peder Christensen Kold” died 61 years old in 1764 and buried 9th December 1764 in Vester Thorup Parish.

”Peder Christensen’s Widow Else Christensdatter” died in 1776, 79 years old, and buried 5th May 1776 in Vester Thorup Parish.

Peder Christensen Kold and Else Christensdatter had 3 children, all born in Holme, Thorup or Vust Parish. Their first born was a daughter - Karen Pedersdatter (ancestress).

1. Karen Pedersdatter (Kold) born 1726 - Ancestress.

2. Christen Pedersen (Kold) born 1733. He was married to Dorthe Jensdatter, and they lived in Vust.

3. Anne Pedersdatter (Kold) born 1744. She was married to Peder Pedersen (Kragh), and they lived in Thorup Holme.

III. The Myrup ancestors (1724-1810)

Niels Christian Pedersen (Diernæs) later called Niels Christian Myrup was born in 1724 as son of Peder Christensen (Diernæs) and wife Margrethe Nielsdatter (Krarup). The church records Lild and Tømmerby parishes no longer exists for the period 1673-1728. But he was very likely born at Diernæs, as his father is mentioned in the church records as Peder Christensen at Diernæs from 1730.

Karen Pedersdatter (Kold) was born in 1726 in Holme in Thorup or Vust Parish as daughter of Peder Christensen and wife Else Christensdatter (Kold). The church records for Vust and Vester Thorup parishes are missing for this period.

They got married before 1749. The wedding has not been found in Lild and Tømmerby parishes, and the parish register for Vust and Vester Thorup parishes begins in 1756. Karen Pedersdatter is mentioned as ”Niels Christian’s wife in Diernis” at a baptism in December 1749. At their firstborn’s birth in 1751 Niels Christian was 27 years, and Karen was 25 years old.

Niels Christian (he is most often only mentioned by his first names in the church records) was a farmer at Diernæs, a neighbor farm to Myrup, which he took over after his father Peder Christensen Diernæs before 1749.  Niels Christian Pedersen bought the farm Myrup 8th June 1786 from Thøger Pedersen Buck in Vust for 395 rigsdaler, and 8th July 1786 he sold the farm Diernæsgård to his oldest son Lars Nielsen Diernæs for 890 rigsdaler. Niels Christian and Karen were then 62 and 60 years old.

He was godfather at I-A5 Kirsten Larsdatter at Myrup’s baptism 10/2 1765, so they were either family or very good friends.

At Myrupgård he is described as smallholder and fisherman (in the census 1787). His youngest son III-A9 Niels Nielsen took over the farm Myrup after his death in 1800. Another of his sons III-A7 Peder Nielsen (Kold) lived there in 1787, and he used the name Myrup too. The son III-A3 Lars Nielsen Diernæs’ daughter III-A3.B17 Caroline Diernæs and her husband Christen Jensen Vabesgaard took over the farm Myrup after III-A9 Niels Nielsen Myrup.

”Niels Christian at Myrup” died 29th June 1800 in Lild Parish, 76 years old.

”The widow Karen Pedersdatter at Myrupgaard” died 6th May 1810, 84 years old at her son Niels Nielsen.

A8. Lars Christian Nielsen b. 1767, baptized 2/8 1767 at Lild Church, d. 28/4 1849, 81 years old, in Koldkær, Lild Parish, owner of the farm Koldkær, m.t. Anne Cathrine Pretzmann b. 10/9 1775 in Oddersbøll, Hjardemål Parish. She was sister to Marianne Pretzmann, who was married to III-A3. Lars Nielsen Diernæs.

A10. Margrethe Nielsdatter b. 1770, baptized 10/6 1770 at Lild Church, d. 1770, 5 months old, bur. 18/11 1770.

A12. Anne Nielsdatter b. 1773, baptized 4/7 1773 at Lild Church, m.t. Jens Christian Christensen (Rotbøll) b. 6/9 1772 at Rotbøl, Lild Parish, owner of the farm Rotbøll. They had 8 children.

B8. Palle Møller Jensen (Rotbøll) b. 13/10 1807 at Rotbøl, Lild Parish, d. 4/7 1860 in Lild Parish. Unmarried. He bought Myrupgård 24th June 1844 for 700 rigsdaler from his cousin III-A9.B1 Niels Christian Nielsen, whose mother Mette Mortensdatter lived as a pensioner at Myrupgård. He sold the farm in 1846 to Christen Vabesgaard married to III-A3.B17. Caroline Larsdatter Diernæs. Apparently Palle Møller Jensen did not live at Myrupgård, as he in 1845 lived in Rotbøll in Lild Parish.
